The Queen of Beach Called To Preach

Her story is one of beauty to ashes to beauty again. From tragedy to overcoming success. She has been nicknamed Wonder Woman by those close to her.

Having overcoming tremendous tragedies, starting when her mother died with Janice on her back at 3 years old. This began a trail of abuse.and pain that lead her to THE ONLY TRUE AND LIVING GOD.

After dedicating her life to Christ, Janice has snatched many off the path to darkness, so they can teach others how to win at life.

Janice Barnett is a vibrant beautiful woman with an amazing powerful voice. This petite former beauty queen has surprised many audiences across the nation with her astounding vocal abilities. She has an enthusiasm that is totally infectious and absolutely true.

In 1971, Janice was part of a group called Reggie Saddler, Janice & The Jammers. The act included Reggie Saddler and Fredrick Morrison. They became the opening act for Tina Turner. After seeing Janice perform, Tina sent for Janice to come to her dressing room where she offered her a job to become one of the Ikettes. Janice's father Linton said "No Way!"  They signed a record deal instead with Fantasy Records out of New York City, opening for Kool and The Gang.

They eventually moved to Los Angeles, California, where she met Richard Pryor. Richard heard her and immediately she became his protege'. He introduced her group to Joe Hubbard at Maverick Flats, which later spinned off into "Soul Train".

Joe and John Daniels sent them to Tokyo, Japan and Geneva,Switzerland to develop their act. After returning to the United States, Joe took Janice to meet Harvey Fuqua, the well-known music producer of Motown Records. He produced an album for them on Fantasy Records, which has become a treasured collector's item with beach music fanatics.

Her tunes are also featured on some of the best of collector's sets, including the ever so popular " I Told You So" on Ripete Records Beach Beat Volume IV.

Janice has a long list of credits, and has collaborated with many stars. The tour with tokyo with WAR and Pattie Page was highly successful. At Geneva, Switzerland, she performed for Prince Faisal of Saudi Arabia and his court on a regular basis. She also performed at Lake Tahoe, Reno to standing ovations nightly.

Janice appeared on The Dinah Show with Redd Foxx, and opened for Bill Cosby at the Hilton hotel in Las Vegas, under the guidance of Joe Hubbard and later,NBC Television producer Scoey Mitchell. It was with Scoey.at NBC that Janice received her training as a producer. They produced the summer replacement shows,and NBC Movie of the Week on location with Soul Train.

Additionally, Janice did a guest appearance on THE REDD FOXX SHOW, which resulted in her being held over for 13 weeks at the Hilton hotel.

She played the role of Rosa Parks in the play "Selma" which is about the life of Martin Luther King, and recorded the album sound track for Atlantic Records entitled "SELMA"

Never leaving her roots for Gospel music, she also performed for sold out crowds of 80,000 people  Janice performed with gospel greats such as Shirley Ceasar, Leon Petilo, and Petra.

She was a Head Liner at both Disney Land and Disney World for 10 years, for 12 or 16 weeks each year. 

Janice was nominated FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR at the Cammy's Beach Music Awards She was also inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1995 as THE QUEEN OF BEACH MUSIC.  In 1996, she won DUO OF THE YEAR along with Billy Scott of the Georgia Prophets (MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR), They recorded a duet entitled "SOMETHING ABOUT YOU BABY I LIKE", which became a major hit single resulting in 22 weeks at the top of the Beach Music charts in 1995. 

In 1994, together with Harvey Fuqua she formed a gospel record label, N-FLIGHT RECORDS. Willam Guest of Gladys Knight and the Pips later became their partner.

Their first project released entitled "Janice" was on Ripete Records. It Ain't No Way" reigned for one week on the People's Choice as #1 on the chart. The duet with Maurice Williams and Janice was also at #8 for that week. The album "Janice" was #9, with duets by Billy Scott, Maurice Williams, Harvey Fugua of the Moonglows, William Guest of Gladys Knight and the Pips, and Dink Perry on the Rhythmn and Beach charts.

Janice was ordained as a minister under the guidance of Rev. Samuel Ervin at El Shaddia Full
Gospel Baptist Church. She was ordained as Associate Pastor at River of Life Fellowship in Kings Mountain, N.C., under Pastor Robert Quinn.  Janice was a regular on Garland Faw's HOUR OF TRUTH T.V.

Janice is an ordained pastor who evangelizes with a prophetic gift.

After the Prophetic laying on of hands by Apostle Friiday Idawor (Pastor Friday is presently the Lagos State Treasurer of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.and Pastor Benny Hinn, God charged Janice with his call to the nation. Janice was also introduced in 2009 by her mentor Dr Juanita Bynum's on worldwide T.V.

God moved Janice to Atlanta and divinely placed her under the mentorship of Jean Wallace, (Founder of Otm Collaboration). As they began to teach and empower non-profit organizations to join hands, the floods gates blew open wide.  

Kings, Presidents,Ambassaors, Pastors, Leaders, Judges, Mayors, Founders, etc working together hand in hand changing lives.    For real.--- Forever.---  Amen

Janice also served as a bridge-builder and recruiter for many pastors and leaders through Four Square Gospel Church, founded by gospel legend, Amy Simple-McPhearson, under Bishop Scott Reese
